Finding Companionship is Easier than You've Thought!

3 Pieces of Advice To Help You Build a Healthy Relationship

Talk about the future early on

It's important to not dwell on the past, but it's also important to consider the future to some extent. Of course, it's not necessary (and likely not appropriate) to ask about their family planning preferences before the first course of the date.

However, it's not advisable to wait until after a year of dating to discover that your partner has no interest in getting married, especially if marriage is a dealbreaker for you.

Make sure you’re attracted to the person, not the idea of a relationship

On occasion, we may have a strong desire to be in a romantic relationship (which can lead to dating exhaustion), to the point where we may not recognize that we are more drawn to the notion of being in a relationship than to the individual with whom we are actually in a relationship.

It's important not to overlook discussing  preferences and boundaries with your partner

It's a basic requirement, but if you are uneasy about discussing sexual health with your partner, then it may indicate that you are not yet ready to be intimate with them (or they may not be the right person for you to be intimate with).

Engage in conversations with your partner about your preferences, things you enjoy or dislike, and your comfort levels while also attentively listening to their thoughts without criticizing or judging them.

Dating after 50? Don't let nerves hold you back!

When considering dating at the age of 50 or older, it can be overwhelming, especially if you have recently ended a long-term relationship or marriage and never thought you would be searching for love again.

Despite having gained more knowledge and experience over the years, you may also have additional responsibilities such as children, mortgages, and eldercare.

Furthermore, the dating scene has changed since you were last single, with more emphasis on texting, dating apps, and social media, and less on phone calls and emails.

Nevertheless, love is a beautiful thing and dating is usually a necessary step to finding it. If you haven't already, consider joining dating websites, but it's best to limit yourself to one or two to avoid feeling overwhelmed.
